Gettin’ Kinky wid it

On two occasions in this sad mad soft porn movie that is my life, as I waited for some government flunky to do his job (which, as we all now, is an activity not good for mental and emotional health), I got saved from terminal boredom by a country crooner turned private detective from Texas.

Kinky Friedman. His books, like his name, never fail to amuse me. I dig his humor like a dig hot Milo on a rainy afternoon. So excuse me, world, while I crack open The Love Song of J. Edgar Hoover, my third Friedman book in a month, and be a recluse for days. Hopefully you’ll be a far better place when I emerge from this. If not, well, there’s always a fourth Kinky book.

  1. Armadillos and Old Lace was the first ever Kinky Friedman book I’ve ever read. I loved it. Title is taken from title of old play entitled Arsenic and Old Lace which I’ve read. It’s about two old ladies who poison their guests in a pension house or something which they own. Galing din.
